• Aerial Intro

    Aerial Intro is a MANDATORY class to be taken before you can take any other Aerial class. This class provides you with the principles of using aerial silk hammocks for fitness and spinal decompression. You will be taught about safety as well as learn different grips and wraps, modifications and terminology. You will learn how to safely perform an inversion and find your balance as well as learn some fitness moves incorporated in our Aerial Fit. Aerial Intro is about fundamentals, it is not designed to be a workout (although some parts may feel like one) and it is not designed to teach you aerial tricks. We will be going upside down into inversions so if this is something you already know you do not like, this may not be the class for you.

I am experienced in Group Fitness, Step Aerobics, Zumba Basic, Toning, Sentao, Body Sculpt, Yoga, and Aerial Silks.  I have been dancing for 13 years through high school and college productions and started my love of Zumba in January 2011.  I had been struggling with weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle.  All the workouts I was doing at the time were boring and didn’t seem to show me the results I desired until I found Zumba.  Zumba changed my life for the better.  I lost about 50-60lbs and felt better, had more energy, and zest for life.

      We wanted to have a place where people could come and have fun with fitness like they were out “clubbing.”  I always felt more comfortable working out in the low lighting especially when I was uncomfortable in my own skin.  It made me feel less self conscience; therefore, I moved my body more.

      In 2016 I found my love for Aerial Silks classes and in January of 2016 I became certified in teaching Aerial classes.  I cannot wait to bring to you fun in fitness through flight, leaving you feeling longer stronger, and even taller (which is a big deal for me since I am only like 5 feet tall LOL)

    Aerial 1 is the perfect class in which to learn or to brush up on the foundations of Aerial. Detailed cues are given throughout class, progressions are always optional, and instructor spotting is used when necessary. Students will explore space, stretch, swing, flip, invert, and -most importantly- have FUN!

      Hi, I’m Christine! I am originally from New Jersey and after living in New York City and Florida my husband and I decided in 1997 to make Duluth our home and could not be happier.

      I have always been active, but in 2004 I made the commitment to a healthier diet and regular exercise and have never looked back.  By 2005 I lost 35lbs. and reached my goal weight.  I am happy to say that I have kept it off ever since.

      For several years during and after my weight loss I took Pilates, yoga and strengthening classes but found myself constantly searching for the perfect cardio component to my fitness routine. When I went to my first Zumba class I knew I found the right class for me.  I was hooked.  Every class feels like a party and it is unlike any workout I have ever done. You go hard, you sweat, you wiggle, you giggle.

      In addition to being Zumba licensed I am also certified in mat Pilates, Group Exercise and Barre in addition to maintaining my CPR and AED  certifications as well.  I am thrilled to be co-owner at Ignite Studio Duluth and look forward to you seeing you at my classes.

      Hello my name is Amanda.  I moved to Duluth with my boyfriend from southern Minnesota in 2014.  I work full time in the pricing department for BFS (Builders First Source) a building material company.

      I have always been fairly active, when I was younger I was in dance, and was on the high school basketball team.  I started working out regularly in college and have continued to do so ever since.  Shortly after moving to Duluth I wanted to find a place to workout and meet people.  My boyfriend and I found Zstudio while on a walk one day so I stopped in to try it out and I haven’t left since!

      I am now certified in Group Fitness through AFAA and also have my Zumba License.  I love attending Zumba classes and I fell in love with core and strength training type classes.  One major thing I love about Zstudio is the group setting and the energy that make it so much fun it seems like you’re not working out.  I’ve met some wonderful people since I started attending classes as a participant.  I wish to assist everyone to enjoy themselves and feel the awesome energy of Zstudio while getting a great workout!  I can’t wait to see you in class!

    Barre classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.

      Hey everyone!  My name is Amber and my passion is fitness!  A few years ago my cousin convinced me to go to a Zumba class… I thought, dancing, me?!?  I have always been a klutz and am as coordinated as a giraffe with all left feet (think about that one!).  But after the first few minutes of my first class, I. WAS. HOOKED.  I want to give you all that same feeling in my classes!  Not only was I dancing (sometimes with wreckless abandon) but I was sweating and burning calories.  Amazing!  Fitness, fun?  Awesome!  And you know what?       I first found Zumba in 2011.  I had been hearing all about it and had wanted to try it.  Then Melinda (a Zumba instructor) came into my place of business and we got to talking and she invited me and my friend to Zumba in the club.  I went and was instantly hooked.  It was so much fun!  I have always loved to dance and doing Zumba I was getting to dance and get a great workout. It was so much more fun than going to a gym – which I had done several times over the years.   After doing Zumba consistently for almost a year a friend of mine was going to the cities to get licensed and I had been thinking about it.  So it was perfect.  We went down together and got licensed.  It took me a couple of years to start teaching because I was very shy and nervous.  Zumba has changed my life over the past couple of years – I have so much more confidence and I have never felt this good about myself.    About a year ago the studio started teaching Buti Yoga and I was instantly hooked.  So in the summer of 2015 I went to the cites with two fellow instructors and got certified to teach it!  It has added a whole other confidence level to my life.  I just love teaching Buti Yoga and Zumba because I want everyone to feel as amazing as I feel when participating in these classes!

      Hello all! My name is Danny Strohman and I am ecstatic to be your Zumba and Shred instructor and soon to be Personal Trainer at Ignite Studio Duluth!! I have been a member of Ignite Studio Duluth since January of 2014 when I went to the grand opening party and fell in LOVE! My first time at Zumba, I was tripping all over the place. But, I was the most unhealthy I had been in my life and was determined to lose weight. About 2 weeks into it, I was starting to get better and feel better about myself as well. Thanks to Ignite Studio Duluth and a balanced diet I am now down 40 pounds and counting! Zumba has given me a chance to make exercise fun, exciting, and has made me a new and improved Danny! So whether you’re coming for a fun way to stay active, or you are starting your health and wellness journey, I’m glad you picked Ignite Studio Duluth and I’m excited to help you reach your goals!

      When I’m not sweating bullets on the dancefloor, I have many activities that keep me busy. I coach at Duluth East High School for the cheer squad which took first at Nationals in February of ’14, and I’m also a bartender at The Flame Nightclub in Duluth! I enjoy tennis, hiking, rollerblading, and goldendoodles! I became a licensed Zumba instructor in November of 2014 and very pleased with my choice to do so and cannot wait to be your Personal Trainer!

    About

    Get your strength, cardio and flexibility training all in one workout! Buti Yoga is a Vinysas (power) yoga that combines tribal dance and plyometrics. Buti Yoga sculpts muscles while burning fat, using power yoga as an active recovery and a way of lengthening to create lean muscle.

    What makes Buti different and so amazing? In most workouts you over train the outer abdominal muscles while ignoring the inner abdominal muscles. Buti teaches you to activate core muscles in both the outer and inner abdominal muscles.       I am now certified in Group Fitness through AFAA and also have my Zumba License.  I love attending Zumba classes and I fell in love with core and strength training type classes.  One major thing I love about Zstudio is the group setting and the energy that make it so much fun it seems like you’re not working out.  I’ve met some wonderful people since I started attending classes as a participant.  I wish to assist everyone to enjoy themselves and feel the awesome energy of Zstudio while getting a great workout!  I can’t wait to see you in class!

      Hello all! My name is Danny Strohman and I am ecstatic to be your Zumba and Shred instructor and soon to be Personal Trainer at Ignite Studio Duluth!! I have been a member of Ignite Studio Duluth since January of 2014 when I went to the grand opening party and fell in LOVE! My first time at Zumba, I was tripping all over the place. But, I was the most unhealthy I had been in my life and was determined to lose weight. About 2 weeks into it, I was starting to get better and feel better about myself as well. Thanks to Ignite Studio Duluth and a balanced diet I am now down 40 pounds and counting! Zumba has given me a chance to make exercise fun, exciting, and has made me a new and improved Danny! So whether you’re coming for a fun way to stay active, or you are starting your health and wellness journey, I’m glad you picked Ignite Studio Duluth and I’m excited to help you reach your goals!

      When I’m not sweating bullets on the dancefloor, I have many activities that keep me busy. I coach at Duluth East High School for the cheer squad which took first at Nationals in February of ’14, and I’m also a bartender at The Flame Nightclub in Duluth! I enjoy tennis, hiking, rollerblading, and goldendoodles! I became a licensed Zumba instructor in November of 2014 and very pleased with my choice to do so and cannot wait to be your Personal Trainer!

    If you enjoy high energy, motivating music, and like to try unique moves and combinations, Zumba may be your ticket to fitness.  Zumba Is a dance inspired workout combining different types of music including Latin, global and current hits into a fun and effective workout. Each Zumba class starts with a warm up to get you in the groove and then class picks up using music with fast and slow rhythms with simple and easy to follow routines built around each song.  Our Zumba classes last about an hour and incorporates several dance styles, including cumbia, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, belly dancing and hip hop. So ditch the workout and join the original dance-fitness party!

      My name is Savannah and I am licensed in basic Zumba.  I also have a love for Yoga and Buti Yoga!  My passion for dancing started at a young age.  I was in tap and ballet for a few years as a kid and my love for dancing continued as I found Zumba.  I have been a participant in Zumba classes for 6 years now and I will never stop!  It is my favorite way to get my body moving!  I have struggled with my weight and depression in the past and Zumba has helped both in so many ways.  I hope to inspire and encourage people to be their best selves!

      Hello my name is Karen Wright.  I was born and raised here in Duluth.  I work full time as the manager at Paper Hog – a small print shop downtown and love my job.  Also when I am not working, doing Zumba and Buti Yoga I enjoy running.  I started doing 5k races in 2010 and do several throughout the year.  And in 2013 I finished Grandmas Half Marathon!  I also enjoy Yoga & SUP Yoga in the summer!

      I first found Zumba in 2011.  I had been hearing all about it and had wanted to try it.  Then Melinda (a Zumba instructor) came into my place of business and we got to talking and she invited me and my friend to Zumba in the club.  I went and was instantly hooked.  It was so much fun!  I have always loved to dance and doing Zumba I was getting to dance and get a great workout. It was so much more fun than going to a gym – which I had done several times over the years.   After doing Zumba consistently for almost a year a friend of mine was going to the cities to get licensed and I had been thinking about it.  So it was perfect.  We went down together and got licensed.  It took me a couple of years to start teaching because I was very shy and nervous.  Zumba has changed my life over the past couple of years – I have so much more confidence and I have never felt this good about myself.    About a year ago the studio started teaching Buti Yoga and I was instantly hooked.  So in the summer of 2015 I went to the cites with two fellow instructors and got certified to teach it!  It has added a whole other confidence level to my life.  I just love teaching Buti Yoga and Zumba because I want everyone to feel as amazing as I feel when participating in these classes!

      Hey I’m Dawn! I am experienced in Group Fitness, Step Aerobics, Zumba Basic, Toning, Sentao, Body Sculpt, Yoga, and Aerial Silks.  I have been dancing for 13 years through high school and college productions and started my love of Zumba in January 2011.  I had been struggling with weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle.  All the workouts I was doing at the time were boring and didn’t seem to show me the results I desired until I found Zumba.  Zumba changed my life for the better.  I lost about 50-60lbs and felt better, had more energy, and zest for life.

      We wanted to have a place where people could come and have fun with fitness like they were out “clubbing.”  I always felt more comfortable working out in the low lighting especially when I was uncomfortable in my own skin.  It made me feel less self conscience; therefore, I moved my body more.

      In 2016 I found my love for Aerial Silks classes and in January of 2016 I became certified in teaching Aerial classes.  I cannot wait to bring to you fun in fitness through flight, leaving you feeling longer stronger, and even taller (which is a big deal for me since I am only like 5 feet tall LOL)

      Hi, I’m Christine! I am originally from New Jersey and after living in New York City and Florida my husband and I decided in 1997 to make Duluth our home and could not be happier.

      I have always been active, but in 2004 I made the commitment to a healthier diet and regular exercise and have never looked back.  By 2005 I lost 35lbs. and reached my goal weight.  I am happy to say that I have kept it off ever since.

      For several years during and after my weight loss I took Pilates, yoga and strengthening classes but found myself constantly searching for the perfect cardio component to my fitness routine. When I went to my first Zumba class I knew I found the right class for me.  I was hooked.  Every class feels like a party and it is unlike any workout I have ever done. You go hard, you sweat, you wiggle, you giggle.

      In addition to being Zumba licensed I am also certified in mat Pilates, Group Exercise and Barre in addition to maintaining my CPR and AED  certifications as well.  I am thrilled to be co-owner at Ignite Studio Duluth and look forward to you seeing you at my classes.

      Hello! My name is Angie! I have been doing zumba since 2011, but recently became an instructor in August of 2015. Dancing is a passion of mine and has been a huge part of my life. I started dancing at the age of four, and I have done many different styles over the years such as jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop and so on. I was on the dance-team throughout high school and some in college. I am currently taking a jazz/hip-hop class at Madill Dance Center, which I absolutely love.       Hello my name is Amanda.  I moved to Duluth with my boyfriend from southern Minnesota in 2014.  I work full time in the pricing department for BFS (Builders First Source) a building material company.

      I have always been fairly active, when I was younger I was in dance, and was on the high school basketball team.  I started working out regularly in college and have continued to do so ever since.  Shortly after moving to Duluth I wanted to find a place to workout and meet people.  My boyfriend and I found Zstudio while on a walk one day so I stopped in to try it out and I haven’t left since!
