• Be Fly Intro (PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED)

    Be Fly Intro is a MANDATORY class to be taken before you can take any other Aerial class. This class provides you with the principles of using aerial silk hammocks for fitness and spinal decompression. You will be taught about safety as well as learn different grips and wraps, modifications and terminology. You will learn how to safely perform an inversion and find your balance as well as learn some fitness moves incorporated in our Aerial Fit. Aerial Intro is about fundamentals, it is not designed to be a workout (although some parts may feel like one) and it is not designed to teach you aerial tricks. We will be going upside down into inversions so if this is something you already know you do not like, this may not be the class for you.

    Be Fly 1 is the perfect class in which to learn or to brush up on the foundations of Aerial. Detailed cues are given throughout class, progressions are always optional, and instructor spotting is used when necessary. Students will explore space, stretch, swing, flip, invert, and -most importantly- have FUN!

      Hi, I’m Christine! I am originally from New Jersey and after living in New York City and Florida my husband and I decided in 1997 to make Duluth our home and could not be happier.

      I have always been active, but in 2004 I made the commitment to a healthier diet and regular exercise and have never looked back.  By 2005 I lost 35lbs. and reached my goal weight.  I am happy to say that I have kept it off ever since.

      For several years during and after my weight loss I took Pilates, yoga and strengthening classes but found myself constantly searching for the perfect cardio component to my fitness routine. When I went to my first Zumba class I knew I found the right class for me.  I was hooked.  Every class feels like a party and it is unlike any workout I have ever done. You go hard, you sweat, you wiggle, you giggle.

      In addition to being Zumba licensed I am also certified in mat Pilates, Group Exercise, YogaFit and Barre in addition to maintaining my CPR and AED  certifications as well.  I am also the creator of FUSE a class you can only find at Ignite Studio. FUSE is a combination of yoga, strength training, Pilates core and leg work. Each class ends with stretch and meditation with optional aromatherapy.

      I am thrilled to be co-owner at Ignite Studio Duluth and look forward to you seeing you at my classes.

      I have always been fairly active, when I was younger I was in dance, and was on the high school basketball team.  I started working out regularly in college and have continued to do so ever since.  Shortly after moving to Duluth I wanted to find a place to workout and meet people.  My boyfriend and I found Zstudio while on a walk one day so I stopped in to try it out and I haven’t left since!

      I am now certified in Group Fitness through AFAA and also have my Zumba License.  I love attending Zumba classes and I fell in love with core and strength training type classes.  One major thing I love about Zstudio is the group setting and the energy that make it so much fun it seems like you’re not working out.  I’ve met some wonderful people since I started attending classes as a participant.  I wish to assist everyone to enjoy themselves and feel the awesome energy of Zstudio while getting a great workout!  I can’t wait to see you in class!

    Barre class is a sculpting and toning class inspired by ballet as well as inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. It is to give you the long, lean body of a dancer while promoting grace, balance, and posture. The focus of the class is building a strong core (abdominal, gluteal, back extensor muscles) and the strength, endurance, and flexibility of the upper and lower extremities that not just dancers but EVERYONE needs! Class starts with slow and steady leg work while at the Barre followed by working the arms with high reps and low weight. We hit the mat to work out core and end the class with stretch and meditation.

      Hello! My name is Amber and I am licensed to instruct Zumba and STRONG by Zumba.

      I started my fitness journey haltingly in 2012 when I wanted to lose weight for my wedding.  I wasn’t committed and didn’t know what I was doing, so my efforts didn’t bring much reward.  When my husband deployed overseas, I had time to burn and a fire within me to get fit!  Over the following three years I ran half marathons, got into triathlon, and became a certified personal trainer… but nothing seemed to quench my thirst for actual FUN in fitness.  After taking my first Zumba class, I was hooked! I decided to become a Zumba Instructor in October 2016…best decision of my life! I immediately signed up to become a STRONG by Zumba Instructor and am loving the message and feeling that the program brings!  My passion for fitness (which was quite large before but was missing something) grew exponentially and felt COMPLETE.  I have never worked out so consistently and I don’t feel like my “workout” is an obligation… it is the most fun I’ve ever had with fitness!  Get ready to feel the triumph (ok, and the burn) of accomplishing your goals with our amazing team at Ignite Studio!

      Hello my name is Karen Wright.  I was born and raised here in Duluth.  I work full time as the manager at Paper Hog – a small print shop downtown and love my job.  Also when I am not working, doing Zumba and Buti Yoga I enjoy running.  I started doing 5k races in 2010 and do several throughout the year.  And in 2013 I finished Grandmas Half Marathon!  I also enjoy Yoga & SUP Yoga in the summer!

      I first found Zumba in 2011.  I had been hearing all about it and had wanted to try it.  Then Melinda (a Zumba instructor) came into my place of business and we got to talking and she invited me and my friend to Zumba in the club.  I went and was instantly hooked.  It was so much fun!  I have always loved to dance and doing Zumba I was getting to dance and get a great workout. It was so much more fun than going to a gym – which I had done several times over the years.   After doing Zumba consistently for almost a year a friend of mine was going to the cities to get licensed and I had been thinking about it.  So it was perfect.  We went down together and got licensed.  It took me a couple of years to start teaching because I was very shy and nervous.  Zumba has changed my life over the past couple of years – I have so much more confidence and I have never felt this good about myself.    About a year ago the studio started teaching Buti Yoga and I was instantly hooked.  So in the summer of 2015 I went to the cites with two fellow instructors and got certified to teach it!  It has added a whole other confidence level to my life.  I just love teaching Buti Yoga and Zumba because I want everyone to feel as amazing as I feel when participating in these classes!

      Hi, I’m Christine! I am originally from New Jersey and after living in New York City and Florida my husband and I decided in 1997 to make Duluth our home and could not be happier.

      I have always been active, but in 2004 I made the commitment to a healthier diet and regular exercise and have never looked back.  By 2005 I lost 35lbs. and reached my goal weight.  I am happy to say that I have kept it off ever since.

      For several years during and after my weight loss I took Pilates, yoga and strengthening classes but found myself constantly searching for the perfect cardio component to my fitness routine. When I went to my first Zumba class I knew I found the right class for me.  I was hooked.  Every class feels like a party and it is unlike any workout I have ever done. You go hard, you sweat, you wiggle, you giggle.

      In addition to being Zumba licensed I am also certified in mat Pilates, Group Exercise, YogaFit and Barre in addition to maintaining my CPR and AED  certifications as well.  I am also the creator of FUSE a class you can only find at Ignite Studio. FUSE is a combination of yoga, strength training, Pilates core and leg work. Each class ends with stretch and meditation with optional aromatherapy.

      I am thrilled to be co-owner at Ignite Studio Duluth and look forward to you seeing you at my classes.

      Hello! My name is Angie! I have been doing zumba since 2011, but recently became an instructor in August of 2015. Dancing is a passion of mine and has been a huge part of my life. I started dancing at the age of four, and I have done many different styles over the years such as jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop and so on. I was on the dance-team throughout high school and some in college. I am currently taking a jazz/hip-hop class at Madill Dance Center, which I absolutely love. The reason I chose to become a zumba instructor was because I wanted to share my love for dance with others. I love the positive energy that zumba provides and how it turns a simple workout into a nonstop dance party. I look forward to meeting you!

      Hello! My name is Amber and I am licensed to instruct Zumba and STRONG by Zumba.

      I started my fitness journey haltingly in 2012 when I wanted to lose weight for my wedding.  I wasn’t committed and didn’t know what I was doing, so my efforts didn’t bring much reward.  When my husband deployed overseas, I had time to burn and a fire within me to get fit!  Over the following three years I ran half marathons, got into triathlon, and became a certified personal trainer… but nothing seemed to quench my thirst for actual FUN in fitness.  After taking my first Zumba class, I was hooked! I decided to become a Zumba Instructor in October 2016…best decision of my life! I immediately signed up to become a STRONG by Zumba Instructor and am loving the message and feeling that the program brings!  My passion for fitness (which was quite large before but was missing something) grew exponentially and felt COMPLETE.  I have never worked out so consistently and I don’t feel like my “workout” is an obligation… it is the most fun I’ve ever had with fitness!  Get ready to feel the triumph (ok, and the burn) of accomplishing your goals with our amazing team at Ignite Studio!

      Hello my name is Amanda.  I moved to Duluth with my boyfriend from southern Minnesota in 2014.  I work full time in the pricing department for BFS (Builders First Source) a building material company.

      I have always been fairly active, when I was younger I was in dance, and was on the high school basketball team.  I started working out regularly in college and have continued to do so ever since.  Shortly after moving to Duluth I wanted to find a place to workout and meet people.  My boyfriend and I found Zstudio while on a walk one day so I stopped in to try it out and I haven’t left since!

      I am now certified in Group Fitness through AFAA and also have my Zumba License.  I love attending Zumba classes and I fell in love with core and strength training type classes.  One major thing I love about Zstudio is the group setting and the energy that make it so much fun it seems like you’re not working out.  I’ve met some wonderful people since I started attending classes as a participant.  I wish to assist everyone to enjoy themselves and feel the awesome energy of Zstudio while getting a great workout!  I can’t wait to see you in class!

I am experienced in Group Fitness, Step Aerobics, Zumba Basic, Toning, Sentao, Body Sculpt, Yoga, and Aerial Silks.  I have been dancing for 13 years through high school and college productions and started my love of Zumba in January 2011.  I had been struggling with weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle.  All the workouts I was doing at the time were boring and didn’t seem to show me the results I desired until I found Zumba.  Zumba changed my life for the better.  I lost about 50-60lbs and felt better, had more energy, and zest for life.

      We wanted to have a place where people could come and have fun with fitness like they were out “clubbing.”  I always felt more comfortable working out in the low lighting especially when I was uncomfortable in my own skin.  It made me feel less self conscience; therefore, I moved my body more.

      In 2016 I found my love for Aerial Silks classes and in January of 2016 I became certified in teaching Aerial classes.  I cannot wait to bring to you fun in fitness through flight, leaving you feeling longer stronger, and even taller (which is a big deal for me since I am only like 5 feet tall LOL)

    Get your strength, cardio and flexibility training all in one workout! Buti Yoga is a Vinysas (power) yoga that combines tribal dance and plyometrics. Buti Yoga sculpts muscles while burning fat, using power yoga as an active recovery and a way of lengthening to create lean muscle.

      I love doing Zumba, but I was terrified to be up in front and have everyone look at me. But the last year going to ZStudio on a regular basis has changed all of that.

      Hello my name is Karen Wright.  I was born and raised here in Duluth.  I work full time as the manager at Paper Hog – a small print shop downtown and love my job.  Also when I am not working, doing Zumba and Buti Yoga I enjoy running.  I started doing 5k races in 2010 and do several throughout the year.  And in 2013 I finished Grandmas Half Marathon!  I also enjoy Yoga & SUP Yoga in the summer!

      I first found Zumba in 2011.  I had been hearing all about it and had wanted to try it.  Then Melinda (a Zumba instructor) came into my place of business and we got to talking and she invited me and my friend to Zumba in the club.  I went and was instantly hooked.  It was so much fun!  I have always loved to dance and doing Zumba I was getting to dance and get a great workout. It was so much more fun than going to a gym – which I had done several times over the years.   After doing Zumba consistently for almost a year a friend of mine was going to the cities to get licensed and I had been thinking about it.  So it was perfect.  We went down together and got licensed.  It took me a couple of years to start teaching because I was very shy and nervous.  Zumba has changed my life over the past couple of years – I have so much more confidence and I have never felt this good about myself.    About a year ago the studio started teaching Buti Yoga and I was instantly hooked.  So in the summer of 2015 I went to the cites with two fellow instructors and got certified to teach it!  It has added a whole other confidence level to my life.  I just love teaching Buti Yoga and Zumba because I want everyone to feel as amazing as I feel when participating in these classes!

    Strengthen and stretch your body

    About

    Combining yoga flows, body sculpting reps with weights, core exercises and Pilates moves Fuse hits each part of your body giving you a complete and balanced workout.  This low impact class focuses more on creating long lean muscles and less on cardio burn making Fuse the perfect class if you want to work out but don’t have time to hit the showers when you are done.

    By starting class with a yoga flow you begin by centering and focusing yourself while warming up your body for the workout to come.  We then move on to body sculpting using light weights but with higher reps to create tight, toned muscles.  Sculpting the body with weights has shown to have benefits beyond just toning and strengthening.  Weight training has has been linked to increasing your metabolism so when you add muscle to your body, you add more calorie burning power.  Body toning and sculpting also help strengthen your bones as you gain muscle.  Our core exercises will engage your abdominal muscles and our  Pilates moves will focus on creating fluid movements to create long lean lines.  In Pilates the quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions and proper breathing is essential.  Finally each class ends with a brief meditation helping you refocus and take the time to just be still.

      Hi! I’m Jess and I am a Shred instructor at Ignite. I started doing zumba at the studio in 2015. I was working a desk job and found myself living a more sedentary lifestyle than I liked. I finally decided to try out a class and had so much fun! The class times were convenient and I enjoyed doing it, so I started going more. My time at the studio quickly changed from a hobby to a passion and I began testing as many classes as I could. I was always looking forward to the next challenge and the next new class. I was lucky enough to be one of the first students to try Shred when it was introduced. From the very beginning, I knew it was something I would stay involved in, though I never knew how much! I love the energy of Shred classes and I am so happy to be a part of it. I hope to see you in one of my classes to challenge yourself and experience something new!

FUSE is a combination of yoga, strength training, Pilates core and leg work. Each class ends with stretch and meditation with optional aromatherapy.

      Hello! My name is Angie! I have been doing zumba since 2011, but recently became an instructor in August of 2015. Dancing is a passion of mine and has been a huge part of my life. I started dancing at the age of four, and I have done many different styles over the years such as jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop and so on. I was on the dance-team throughout high school and some in college. I am currently taking a jazz/hip-hop class at Madill Dance Center, which I absolutely love. The reason I chose to become a zumba instructor was because I wanted to share my love for dance with others. I love the positive energy that zumba provides and how it turns a simple workout into a nonstop dance party. I look forward to meeting you!

      Hello my name is Amanda.  I moved to Duluth with my boyfriend from southern Minnesota in 2014.  I work full time in the pricing department for BFS (Builders First Source) a building material company.

      I have always been fairly active, when I was younger I was in dance, and was on the high school basketball team.  I started working out regularly in college and have continued to do so ever since.  Shortly after moving to Duluth I wanted to find a place to workout and meet people.  My boyfriend and I found Zstudio while on a walk one day so I stopped in to try it out and I haven’t left since!

      I am now certified in Group Fitness through AFAA and also have my Zumba License.  I love attending Zumba classes and I fell in love with core and strength training type classes.  One major thing I love about Zstudio is the group setting and the energy that make it so much fun it seems like you’re not working out.  I’ve met some wonderful people since I started attending classes as a participant.  I wish to assist everyone to enjoy themselves and feel the awesome energy of Zstudio while getting a great workout!  I can’t wait to see you in class!
